The 2020 Corning China One-on-One Donation Program will be officially kicked off next week. This is great opportunity to help those in need during the holiday season. Since next week is Thanksgiving week and many people may out of town, we encourage you to register before going to vacation. You don’t need send money until we know the exactly amount this year. For your reference, the donation amount last year for each student categories was: $45 for one elementary, $60 for one middle school, and $90 for one high school student.
For those who is new to this program, Corning China One-on-One Donation Program for Students in Yingjing, Sichuan China, here is the introduction and history:
During the past several years, CCA have participated in Corning China One-on-One Donation Program for Students in Yingjing aims to relieve the financial stress of poverty student families and to support their education. The program has been successfully carried out at Corning China for almost a decade and have helped over thousands students finish school.
At the One-on-One donation every year, each participating employee may sponsor one-year tuition fee for one or more students from the Yingjing County, Sichuan province. As time passes by, we are more than glad to see the students grow and graduate, and are thrilled to have more and more colleagues join us supporting the poverty students.
In line with the nation’s poverty alleviation work, each year the Yingjing County has identified a group of poverty families as requiring special attention. The local government bureaus, companies and organizations are reaching out to them, and CCA together with Corning-China is glad to see that the One-on-One Donation Program has already covered some of these students in the past years. To see the kids enjoy fair opportunities for education has always been the core of this program, we honestly hope that we may bring more of these students the necessary support.
